Calgary forward Mikael Backlund doesn’t have a disciplinary hearing scheduled after hitting Winnipeg’s Tobias Enstrom from behind Saturday night, an NHL spokesman has confirmed.

Backlund was only assessed at minor penalty for boarding at 14:51 of the third period.

Enstrom left the game immediately and did not return.

Following the game, Jets coach Paul Maurice called Enstrom’s situation “positive”.

“Its’ as of right now, positive,” said Jets’ coach Paul Maurice post-game of Enstrom’s health. “We’ll wait to see how he comes back tomorrow, the rehab part of it. But it’s positive right now. You never like to see that (hit), there’s no place for it.”

There was no further update from the team Sunday.
