It’s the pre-season. But Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban was in a scrappy mood.
Subban, who the Habs re-signed to a massive eight-year, $72 million contract this summer, fought Ottawa Senators defenseman Mark Borowiecki just past the midway point of the third period on Friday night.
Pretty good tilt between the two. It looked like Borowiecki wanted the fight over while the two were still pinned down in the corner, but Subban apparently wanted to continue. The two threw some big haymakers that didn’t really seem to land all that much damage.
Have to wonder, though, if it’s wise for Subban, who is under pressure this season, to fight. Not only because of his contract but he’s Montreal’s most dynamic skater. Also, it’s still pre-season.
