Detroit Red Wings GM Ken Holland has repeatedly expressed his hope that his team will avoid last season’s bad injury luck in 2014-15. If the preseason is any indication, he might not get his wish.

The latest scare came during Wednesday’s 2-0 exhibition loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins, as Tomas Tatar suffered a late injury and didn’t return to the game. Here’s footage of the unfortunate moment:

This injury happened in the waning minutes of tonight’s game, so it’s difficult to tell how severe this issue might be. The very early word is that he’ll be OK, though, as the Detroit Free Press’ Helene St. James reports:

On the bright side, the second-most recent notable Red Wings injury situation seems promising, as Gustav Nyquist returned to practice and appears to be handling his knee issues fairly well according to MLive.com.
