Another of Minnesota’s failed first-rounders has left the organization -- on Tuesday, it was reported that Tyler Cuma signed in Austria for the Graz 99ers.

Cuma, 24, was Minnesota’s first-round pick (23rd overall) at the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. The former OHL Ottawa d-man was taken four spots ahead of Washington blueliner John Carlson but has failed to find similar big-league success -- Cuma has just one NHL game on his resume, spending the last few seasons exclusively with Minnesota’s AHL affiliate.

His departure is significant, though, at least in terms of highlighting Minnesota’s draft woes between 2005 and ’09:

2005: Benoit Pouliot, fourth overall (traded to Montreal)
2006: James Sheppard, ninth overall (traded to San Jose)
2007: Colton Gillies, 16th overall (waived)
2008: Cuma, 23rd overall (signed in Europe)
2009: Nick Leddy (traded to Chicago)

If you’re wondering what Minnesota received in return, it’s Guillaume Latendresse, Cam Barker and a third-round pick at the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

Yeah, that’s it.
