The Dallas Stars aren’t sounding any alarm bells after starting goalie Kari Lehtonen suffered a concussion last night versus Florida.
“To me, Kari seems pretty good today,” said coach Lindy Ruff, per Mark Stepneski of StarsInsideEdge. “I am not a doctor and I don’t play one on TV, but I think we are basically out of the woods in that situation. Just have to give the mandatory couple of days.”
Lehtonen also missed time in March with a concussion. And with a bit of a wildcard in Anders Lindback as the back-up in Dallas, the starter’s health is a natural concern.
Last night, Ruff called Lehtonen’s symptoms “very mild.” At the same time, he admitted, “It’s a concussion. I am not going to hide from that.”
The injury was reportedly suffered in the third period when Florida forward Nick Bjugstad was checked into the goalie by a Stars d-man.
