The San Jose Sharks have locked up their top two picks of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. Nikolay Goldobin and Julius Bergman have each agreed to three-year, entry-level contracts, per the team’s website.

Goldobin had 38 goals and 94 points in 67 games with the OHL’s Sarnia Sting in 2013-14. The Sharks took the 18-year-old forward with the 27th overall pick after they traded down from the 20th choice in order to swap the 179th overall selection for Chicago’s 62nd pick.

“Nikolay is a dynamic player with a high-end skill set and tremendous vision,” said Sharks GM Doug Wilson. “He’s got great hockey sense which we feel will allow him to be successful.”

Bergman was scooped up with the 46th overall pick. The two-way defenseman had 13 goals and 34 points in 45 games in 2013-14 in Sweden’s junior league.
