Ottawa is bringing a pair of journeymen to training camp this week -- on Tuesday, the club announced forwards Nick Palmieri and Brad Mills would attend on a professional try out basis.

Mills, 31, has appeared in 34 career NHL contests with the Devils and, most recently, the Blackhawks. He’s bounced back and forth between the bigs and American League over the last three years.

Palmieri, 25, is a former third-round pick that spent last season in Germany. At one time, he looked to be on his way to a full-time NHL gig -- when he was 21, he scored nine goals and 17 points in 43 games for the Devils -- but he fell out of favor in New Jersey and was shipped to Minnesota as part of the Marek Zidlicky trade.

Palmieri wasn’t able to catch on in Minnesota, either, but rebounded a bit last year with Munich EHC, where he scored 13 goals and 32 points in 47 contests.
