Clowe said recently that he “felt pretty good,” but that he had to “get cleared to play, and I’ve got to see the doctor again before the season starts.”
The Devils signed Clowe to a five-year, $24.25 million deal last summer. The 31-year-old power forward appeared in just 43 games in his first season with New Jersey, scoring seven times with 19 assists.
