Despite an earlier report that an arbitration hearing was likely to be necessary, the Florida Panthers and forward Jimmy Hayes have apparently agreed on a one-year, one-way contract.

Hayes had 11 goals and seven assists in 53 games for the Panthers last season. The 24-year-old was traded to Florida from Chicago in November.

Hayes’ new deal with the Panthers has yet to be formally announced, but his brother, Kevin, tweeted the following this morning:

Update: Confirmed.
