Former NHL player and current Winnipeg city councilor Thomas Steen was taken into custody on July 11 and spent a night in jail after allegedly breaching the conditions of his undertaking, according to the Winnipeg Sun.

Steen is facing two counts of assault and one count of uttering threats related to an incident that occurred on May 1. One of the conditions of his original release is that he wasn’t allowed to communicate with the woman he’s accused of assaulting and that’s what he allegedly did before his recent arrest.

The 54-year-old city councilor spent his entire 950-game NHL career with the original Winnipeg Jets and had his No. 25 retired in 1995. He is also a “Honoured Member” of the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame.

His son, Alex Steen, is a forward with the St. Louis Blues.

Plenty of fish in the sea bud let it go

I hear Crosby is available for Steen.

Jeez, broadstreet. You bring up Crosby in every single story, and like this one, whether the story is about him or not.

If you’re so obsessed with Sid, why don’t you just do the inevitable and ask him to marry you? When he turns you down, we can all breathe a sigh of relief when we no longer see your incessant posts about him.

        Give it a rest already!

I don’t find him to be a good looking man, nor am I attracted to the same sex, so why in the hell would I do that? Nice attempt at humor though, blow hole.

Considering your obsession with Crosby, I thought you were a woman. My apologies.

Considering what a dumba$$ you are, I thought you were joey.

It’s past your bedtime. Don’t forget to kiss Sid’s picture before you go nighty-night. Pleasant dreams!

Ok kid, don’t forget to rub one out to Cindy’s picture before you turn in.

Ahhhh hahaha broad street is getting told on the internet. Now everyone knows you like Sid and want to bang him lol

      • broadstreetbeatdown - Jul 20, 2014 at 11:52 AM

I prefer your mother, but at least you admit that Cindy would be the catcher.

Apparently when he heard “if you love something set it free” he thought the next part was “if it doesn’t come back, go chase after it.”

You know hockey news is scarce when you have to cover the lives of the relatives of hockey players. And it’s only going to get worse in the desert of August.

    • claudegirwho - Jul 18, 2014 at 12:23 AM

He was a hockey player too
