AndrewBrunette

The Minnesota Wild have selected Andrew Brunette to serve as one of the team’s assistant coaches for the 2014-15 campaign, per the StarTribune.

Brunette is a veteran of 1,110 NHL games, including 489 with Minnesota. He had 268 goals and 733 points over the course of his career.

He joined the Wild as a hockey operations advisor after hanging up his skates and has served in that role for two years. He worked heavily on their power play last season and was one of the team’s eyes in the sky. Now he’s likely to be on the bench along with head coach Mike Yeo and fellow assistants Rick Wilson and Darryl Sydor.

Darby Hendrickson will also serve as an assistant coach next season while Bob Mason is the club’s goalie coach.
