Andrei Loktionov had shoulder surgery after suffering an injury at the IIHF World Championships and then found out toward the end of June that he’ll be an unrestricted free agent.

The Carolina Hurricanes didn’t give the 24-year-old center a qualifying offer, which is a development the club announced Monday, and that means Loktionov will hit the open market.

There were other notable restricted free agents that also didn’t get qualifying offers.

Cory Conacher and Jamie McBain of the Buffalo Sabres; Ryan White of the Montreal Canadiens; Keaton Ellerby, James Wright and Matt Halischuk of the Winnipeg Jets; Michael Del Zotto of the Nashville Predators; Jordan Schroeder and Zac Dalpe of the Vancouver Canucks; Mathieu Perreault of the Anaheim Ducks, although it’s a little more complicated then that; T.J. Galiardi and Paul Byron of the Calgary Flames;

    Why would PHT keep us updated about free agency tomorrow?

    Why didn’t anders lindback make this list? Oh yeah cause he’s not “notable” and doesn’t deserve to be in the NHL.

    Perreault, Conacher and Loktionov should have no problem finding a team.

      Conacher’s career is goin down the tubes. Perreault has a future though.

        I think it’s too early to write off Conacher yet.

        @idonthavethebloodyoucrave yeah he is still pretty young, but he’s trending down real fast. If he gets a contract its probably his last shot before becoming an AHL lifer which isn’t a terrible life all things considered.

    Most of those guys are not good so that speaks for itself why they didnt get qualyfing offers.

      Go bolts! Our team has improved greatly now that lindback is as good as gone!!!

      • StammerTime91 - Jul 1, 2014 at 9:08 AM

        Yes! Couldnt stand watching him against Montreal, it was pitiful. And same with Malone out and those trades to clear some cap space. I am excited to see who Stevie Y is targeting. As long as he doesnt overpay for Niskinin we should be good. Go Bolts!!!
