The New York Islanders are set in goal now.

Arthur Staple of New York Newsday reports the Isles have signed goalie Chad Johnson to be the backup to Jaroslav Halak this season. TSN’s Darren Dreger reports the deal is worth $2.6 million.

Johnson, 28, spent last season with the Boston Bruins and provided solid backup work behind Tuukka Rask. In 27 games, he had a .925 save percentage and went 17-4-3.

With a goaltending tandem of Halak and Johnson on Long Island, the Isles seem solid in goal for the first time in a long time.
