The Chicago Blackhawks have come to terms with winger Jeremy Morin on a two-year contract extension.

A pending restricted free agent, Morin had five goals and six assists in 24 regular-season games for Chicago in 2013-14. The 23-year-old also appeared in two playoff games for the ‘Hawks, failing to notch a point. In the AHL, he had 24 goals and 23 assists in 47 games with Rockford.

Morin was drafted 45th overall in 2009 by the Atlanta Thrashers. He was traded to Chicago in 2010 as part of the Dustin Byfuglien deal.

Despite chances, Morin has yet to cement himself as a full-time NHLer — something he’ll try to do again next season.

Update: Morin will earn $1.6 million over the life of his contract, per TSN/ESPN’s Pierre LeBrun.

hapy to see him signed. good 3rd/4th line player. but now that keslers gone, maybe hawks will try to plug him in to 2C, say “we are happy with where our team is at” and watch as Kane leaves for Buffalo.

it was a sarcastic joke, aimed at bowman’s apparent inability to bring in a player/position badly needed by the hawks. easy captain serious.

Can’t wait for Q to sit him for Bollig when it counts.

Amen….and I don’t understand it. Not to dog Bollig, the guy busts his butt and gets everything out of his ability, but Morin was coming through with some physical play himself and he has much better hands than Brandon.

Hopefully Morin can do whatever he needs to do to stay out of Q’s doghouse.

Actually the guy he should have played for in the playoffs was Versteeg.

Bowman made a mistake regarding “size guys” earlier in the season, when they traded Hayes. Bollig had improved from last year, but clearly he does not have much upside. Hayes would have been better by playoff time in he’d have had playing time, in my MOST HUMBLE opinion.

Look at what Morin did in Rockford while there last year.

Not if he’s taking minutes from Bollig.
