AEG CEO flatly denies Kings are up for sale

It turns out the Los Angeles Kings aren’t for sale.

A report from the New York Post stated Philip Anschutz, head of AEG, would look to sell the Los Angeles Kings following the Stanley Cup Final.

While AEG originally denied the reports to the Post, the company reached out to ProHockeyTalk and President and CEO Dan Beckerman released this statement regarding the Post’s report:

“The unsubstantiated rumors printed in the New York Post earlier today about the potential sale of the Los Angeles Kings are false.  So I’m clear, the Los Angeles Kings are not for sale, and there are no plans to sell the franchise today, tomorrow or anytime in the future.  These rumors were started by anonymous sources seeking to create chaos and mischief.  We remain solely focused on one goal, winning the Stanley Cup, and we will not be distracted by such irresponsible reports.”

Stand down, Kings fans, your team won’t be in new hands any time soon. Back to focusing on the Kings being up 1-0 against the New York Rangers.

no surprise that the NYPost or some other NY ‘paper’ would publish rubbish like that to try and take the pressure off the rangers. create an off day distraction to take off the heat, what a surprise… can’t trust NY media, especially the NY Times…

Haha, didn’t realize these rumors were from the NY Post, makes way more sense than anyone selling the Kings right now.

I saw that story and “game 1 underwhelming” on Yahoo and lolz were had. Go Kings Go!

Ah the good ole NY Post. The same people who put all those pics online accusing several innocent people of being the Boston Marathon bombers. They don’t have a shred of credibility.

    ‘STAND DOWN’ INDEED FRIENDS !

Yes sir, two things are readily apparent here. One is that the NY Rangers and their ‘confederates’ have now revealed themselves to be ‘vermin’ and that’s a shame. And two is that comrade Yerdon is definitely ‘not’ a communist. Otherwise friends, my only knock on this ‘excellent’ article is the fact that comrade President & CEO Beckerman apparently said “today, tomorrow or ‘anytime’ in the future” as opposed to “today, tomorrow and forever” which is our official King’s speak. Anyway, the bottom line right now as I see it, is that we Kings have to ‘seriously’ get going here. Tomorrow night we have to ‘put the boots’ to these east coast liars in ‘no’ uncertain terms … and God willing we will ! :)

GO KINGS GO !!! … TODAY, TOMORROW AND FOREVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

‘May the heels of truth ‘forever’ be brought down upon the heads of those who are disingenuous”

ps: please also note friends that these ‘anonymous sources seeking to create chaos and mischief’ have already been identified and they’re now being engaged by ‘special action’ units of Blomfeld & Wo Fat Security Systems ! :)

Danno: what do you think about tomorrow night Steve ?

      McGarrett: book ‘em Danno ! … we’re up two already ! :)

“Stand down, Kings fans, your team won’t be in new hands any time soon.”

Whether you are a Kings fan or not, as soon as you saw where this baseless claim came from you knew to dismiss it out of hand.

As he should when his team is in the Finals, whether it is true or not.

But like I said yesterday…it’s garbage rumor-mongering by the NY media.

    Dirtbags.
