Video: Gaborik ties things up in the third period

Jun 1, 2014, 10:40 PM EDT

The Chicago Blackhawks seemed like they might just manage to nurse a 4-3 lead in the third period … but come on. It couldn’t be that easy. Not in their fantastic and tense seven-game series with the Los Angeles Kings.

Instead, Marian Gaborik pulled another rabbit out of the hat when his team needed it, making it 4-4 with this huge tally:

Could we see overtime in a Game 7 for the right to go the 2014 Stanley Cup Final? Maybe, but this series shows that a lot can happen in mere minutes. In other words, don’t step away from your screen anytime soon.

Going out on a limb here. I predict a 5-4 final score.

You know how many ER visits could have been prevented by the Kane line and Quick with 5 seconds left.

My younger brother is at the game. His last text to me: Need oxygen and a defribilator.

Or, you know, any of the Kings in game 5. I think that would have been better for everyone, though my opinion may suffer from a slight lack of impartiality. 😉

I was just checking in on PHT to see if any Kings/Blackhawks fans are still alive. Good to see most have survived game 7 so far, even if just barely.

Am I just a pessimist, or is everyone else doubting that their team will pull it off?

I really think it is just knowledge that the team they are playing against is just that clutch (I presume Kings fans think the same thing of CHI that we think of them)

Hockey Playoffs and March Madness are tied for the best postseason tournaments in North American sports. The other leagues don’t come close to giving the same show.
