Kings’ coach Sutter: Regehr (knee) is ‘doubtful’ for Game 7

It appears that if Robyn Regehr does eventually return to the L.A. Kings lineup, it wouldn’t happen until the next and final round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Regehr, the rugged 34-year-old defenseman, hasn’t played since May 3, after he suffered a knee injury in Game 1 of the second round series against the Anaheim Ducks. He has since returned to the ice and resumed skating, but, based on the comments of L.A.’s head coach Darryl Sutter, Regehr won’t be returning to the lineup for Sunday’s Game 7 against the Chicago Blackhawks.

The winner of that game goes on to face the New York Rangers in the Stanley Cup Final.

“Robyn is doubtful. He’s been skating for a week. He’s been out for a month, so … He hasn’t had contact, per se,” said Sutter, as per LA Kings Insider.

“He would not be available. I think there are two other pairs that are, for the most part, playing as well as they can.”
