Video: Heated exchange between goalies Quick, Crawford

May 30, 2014, 11:03 PM EDT

This was something.

Goalies Jonathan Quick and Corey Crawford came together at the end of the second period of Friday’s Game 6. It certainly didn’t look like they were discussing dinner plans. At the conclusion of their little chat, Crawford shook his hands, perhaps challenging Quick to drop his gloves. A different kind of goalie duel.

This all started after Chicago forward Andrew Shaw was knocked into – and fell over – Quick off a faceoff. Quick got involved when he started going at Shaw with his glove hand. A melee ensued. Crawford was waiting by the Chicago bench when Quick came out of the skirmish, and that’s when the two butted heads.

Oh year, the Blackhawks took a 2-1 lead into the third period, as they look to force a Game 7 in this Western Conference Final.

    Doughty is a beauty!!!

Not enough tranquilizers in the world for this game.

  4. canucks30 - May 30, 2014 at 11:28 PM

Damn. Was hoping they would drop the gloves. Been awhile since we’ve seen a goalie fight in the playoffs.

If I said my trousers got a little “heavier” in the last 10 seconds, would you judge me?

TMZ is reporting that another police report was filed against Crawford tonight for abuse. The victim was not identified, but the victim did wear a goalie mask.

Quick probably runs his mouth more and does more cheap shot crap behind the play than any other goalie in the league. Game 5 he blatantly tripped Shaw while Shaw was skating away. He is a punk and needs to realize he is just a goalie. Stay in the net, keep your mouth shut, and stop the puck.

Don’t forget Game 3 against San Jose when he held onto Couture’s leg behind the play as if his life depended on it. I don’t mind goalies getting emotional and into a game, but when you pull cheap stuff then hide behind the refs like he does it’s just an embarrassment.

Ugh, where do people like you come from?

  8. hawksfan30 - May 31, 2014 at 2:32 AM

I’ll take Quick in goal and Crawford in a fight.

Quick is a good goalie but his cheap shots he never get called for is ridiculous. Someone need to give him a good shot and put him in his place. Should be leave the paint and your fair game. That would stop these douche bags like him and smith from running their mouths.

Where’s that guy Wong or whatever his name was that got the water sprayed in his face by Crawford when you need him.LOL

      Sum Ting Wong?

…and then Quick gives up two goals after his team gets him the lead.

Well if it tuns out to be kings/rangers quick will be getting ran at way more than this… and not by his own players

Only Flyers goalies have the cojones to drop the gloves. Quick and Crawford probably were discussing uncomfortable equipment chaffing in their feminine areas.

I could actually hear them from where I was sitting:
C: Seen either of the Fanning sisters here tonight?
Q: Been looking, but so far, no.
    C: I like Elle.
    Q: She’s only 16, you lech.
    C: You like Dakota?
Q: Yum, but even she’s still too young to take to a bar.
C: Not where I’m from, lol.
Q: OK, you win. Seeya back in Chi-town.
    C: Sunday.
