Video: Tokarski makes another unlikely save; Stepan scores in return

May 27, 2014, 8:38 PM EDT

Derek Stepan made it 1-1 moments ago on a goal that might just haunt Dustin Tokarski, possibly exposing one of the drawbacks of Tokarski’s aggressive style. Even so, the scrappy goalie has provided some real highlight reel saves in this series, with this unlikely save on Carl Hagelin ranking pretty high up there:

The drawbacks of his style may very well keep him from making a lasting NHL impact, yet in a league of largely similar goalie styles, it’s been entertaining to see something a little different.

Here’s that regrettable Stepan goal:

Tomas Plekanec matched Stepan’s nifty tally to make it 2-1, so maybe that Stepan goal won’t sting as much?

Subban said it was a lucky save.

What a save by Tokarski. Definitely a softie after that with the Stepan goal but looks like the Canadiens won’t be able to use the “losing Price really hurt us” excuse if they lose, cause Tokarski’s been real solid this whole series.

As for the Stepan injury, I don’t think it’s “fishy” like everyone is saying or some conspiracy, I just think the injury was made out to be worse than it actually is. Maybe they were trying to get Prust the suspension, but he missed game 4 and he got surgery so it’s not like he faked it. He’s playing through the injury, however bad it may be. Too much is being made of it, in my opinion.

I don’t think it was a softie. The puck went off the Montreal d man and dipped just below Tokarski’s blocker.

The Queen is outplayed by the Rookie.

Riiight. I forgot, the series is 3-1 for the Habs because Tokarski is outplaying Lundqvist so badly.

Meanwhile, back in reality, it’s a tie game. Go on, weep for more penalties. It’s what you people do.

It must be hard to live P.K. Subban’s life. Every time someone makes physical contact with him, he instinctively falls over.

What is the defenseman doing there?

Congrats on not only leaving the shooting lane open but not covering the open winger or passing lane.
