Onto the third round we go but, before we do, a quick look back at the second: I went 3-for-4 (and was the only staffer to take Montreal); O’Brien, Yerdon and Tucker went 3-for-4 as well while Brough and Dadoun went 2-for-4.

As for the commenters, McFaddensPulledHammy’s went a perfect 4-for-4, which is downright impressive. Good job, McFaddensPulledHammy.

Onto the picks we go…

Eastern Conference

Montreal Canadiens vs. New York Rangers

Halford: Habs in 7

Brough: Habs in 7

Yerdon: Habs in 7

O’Brien: Rangers in 6

Dadoun: Rangers in 6

Tucker: Habs in 6

Western Conference

Los Angeles Kings vs. Chicago Blackhawks

Halford: ‘Hawks in 6

Brough: Kings in 6

Yerdon: ‘Hawks in 6

O’Brien: ‘Hawks in 6

Dadoun: ‘Hawks in 6

Tucker: ‘Hawks in 7

        Yeah! GKG!

Who would pick the Rangers to lose a game 7? Obviously anything is possible, but the current rosters collective performance in game 7’s is so impressive, it seems highly unlikely. Either way, I don’t see it getting that far……

    Rangers in 6
    Hawks in 5

Well, we’ve already got an 0-2 score in the Habs-Rangers game as I type, but I don’t think it changes my mind ultimately:

    Habs in 7
    Hawks in 6

  6. hockeyornothing - May 17, 2014 at 1:51 PM

    Rangers in 6
    Hawks in 6

  9. namriverrat69 - May 17, 2014 at 2:14 PM

    Rangers in 6
    Kings in 6

The Kings defense is much better than they played last year.

The finals will be Rangers/Kings – King Henry vs Jonathan Quick to determine whether King Henry is a usurper to Jonathan Quick’s throne. It should be a great series but Kings win.

Hmmm, if you look at the stats the last two years, Corey D is playing better that the fan fawned over Quick, playing = Lunqvist.

    Hawks Habs final

    Habs in 6
    Hawks in 6

    Rematch of the 71 series.

    PS nice call, Hammy.

King Henrick to take Quicks throne??!! Best joke I heard all year. Quick has years to try and catch up to the established best in the world title that Lundqvist has achieved. Rangers are their goalie and that’s it, they have nothing else. The Kings on the other hand could go with their backup and still be in the conference finals. Lundqvist>>>>>Price>>quick
    And there’s more in between.

Your comments are really priceless. What nights are you performing at the Comedy Store?

The best part of these predictions is the NBC sports “experts” didn’t pick the Rangers or Canadians to win their last series.

  15. McFaddensPulledHammy - May 17, 2014 at 5:21 PM

Hawks in 6 – Kings will run out of gas tomorrow, can’t give games away in WCF. Quick is amazing against teams that have hard times going top shelf. Guess who doesn’t have issues with it? 19, 88, and 29. Series comes back to Chicago 2-2 and Hawks finish it off after that. Two brutal 7 game series wears down Kings in the end.

Habs in 7 – Thought this before today’s drubbing. Habs proved they can win tough games on the road last series. Now it’s a must. Still don’t trust Rick Nash to come through when he needs to.

    Thanks for the kudos.
