WATCH LIVE: Montreal Canadiens at Boston Bruins (Game 2)

May 3, 2014, 12:27 PM EDT

Canadiens Bruins Hockey AP

It’s an afternoon puck-drop in Boston for Game 2 between the Bruins and Montreal Canadiens.

Carey Price will look to continue his incredible play from Game 1 while Tuukka Rask will look to not play like… Well, bad stuff.

A couple of quick lineup changes for both teams appear likely. Michael Bournival replaces Travis Moen for Montreal and Andrej Meszaros swaps in for Matt Bartkowski on defense for Boston based on warm-ups.

    Fantastic dive already.

    • jonnyhammersticks - May 3, 2014 at 1:04 PM

I admire the passion of Bruins fans but you guys realize the Bruins dive just as much right?

      • jcmeyer10 - May 3, 2014 at 1:08 PM

That Emelin tumble was just shameless though.

      • jonnyhammersticks - May 3, 2014 at 1:16 PM

It was bad. The Canadiens dive no arguments here but the irony of a team that employs Marchand complaining about diving is hard to deny.

      • sixchr - May 3, 2014 at 1:26 PM

Saying they dive “just as much” isn’t accurate. Boston is always at the bottom of the league in power play opportunities while Montreal is near the top. Yes, Boston dives just like everyone else. The difference is those of us who can be objective actually condemn Bruins players when they dive. Meanwhile in Montreal they embrace it and they cheer for it.

      • jcmeyer10 - May 3, 2014 at 1:34 PM

        Sixchr summed it all up.

      • pepper2011 - May 3, 2014 at 1:36 PM

How many dives to the Bruins have this series? None. How many to habs have?
At least two that got them PP’s and a few more that weren’t called.

I’m not naive enough to think the B’s never do it, but the fact that they are always last in the league in PP drawn should tell you something. They don’t do it all that much. When they do, it’s when guys like PK continue to hold stick and there are not calling it.

      • jonnyhammersticks - May 3, 2014 at 1:44 PM

The Bruins have a lot of honest, hard-working players. They also have Marchand. The point is exactly what you said, all teams dive so no team or fanbase should act like their team is a group of innocent martyrs.

You really think Chara even felt that little crosscheck from Subban? Every team sells calls.

      • drewsylvania - May 3, 2014 at 3:31 PM

Apparently the concept of degrees is lost on jonnyhammersticks.

  2. pepper2011 - May 3, 2014 at 1:49 PM

These announcers are brutal. Vanek slashes Chara across the chin and it’s a stick from “Eriksson”.

Hey Pierre Montreal did NOT chose you as their GM. they never will cause you are a moron.

  3. bigdaddy44 - May 3, 2014 at 1:52 PM

6 minutes in and already a dive by Emelin and a fake injury by Subban. P_____s!

  4. jcmeyer10 - May 3, 2014 at 2:09 PM

C’mon Looch at least pretend like you didn’t MEAN to glove it in.

  5. drewsylvania - May 3, 2014 at 2:18 PM

The pro-Habs reffing is in full effect.

    • drewsylvania - May 3, 2014 at 2:22 PM

What’s the over/under on the number of Hab fans in NHL management?

  6. hockeyflow33 - May 3, 2014 at 2:21 PM

This officiating is just plain horrific. I can’t even fathom how terrible it will be in Montreal.

  7. dubblelznhell - May 3, 2014 at 2:21 PM

Boston is a poor hockey club. Montreal has been showing all other teams all season how to frustrate the Boston hockey club.

Haha watch the replay it wasn’t vaneks stick that hit chara it was your de man, let me guess bruins fans, that lucic goal shoulda counted right?

Habs choke. Way to finish a game Habnots

  11. muckleflugga - May 3, 2014 at 2:40 PM

bruins’ fans whining about refereeing is in full effect

some things never change: bruins going all-ape and their fans going all-girl … too predictable

    snivelling wretches all lmao

    • drewsylvania - May 3, 2014 at 3:32 PM

Go OD or something and spare us your routinely-terrible commentary.

  12. muckleflugga - May 3, 2014 at 2:45 PM

what … thornton off to have a brain transplant …?

you can’t train the stupidity out of the chronically stupid

one has to ask, do the bruins conduct even basic intelligence tests before they recruit and sign these clowns

    • bsfan77 - May 3, 2014 at 3:36 PM

Yeah they do. And they know how to finish. Way to finish the game Habnots. B’s play their game and Habs have no answer

    • pepper2011 - May 3, 2014 at 3:43 PM

Yeah – there isn’t a team in the league that wouldn’t want Shawn Thornton on it. He has his name on the Cup a few times. Anyone who thinks he is just a goon legitimately has no understanding of hockey. Sans the Orpik incident he has been the best “enforcer” for years. The guy can play. Prust is the middle weight version of him. Less tough, more skill. Carcillo is close, but he has to continue to clean his game up.

    • drewzducks - May 3, 2014 at 5:26 PM

Poor Muffy, you’re living proof of your own axiom. A great man once said it is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. You may want to heed that advice.

  13. graymalkin26 - May 3, 2014 at 2:55 PM

    Looks good on Thornton…hahaha…

    • pepper2011 - May 3, 2014 at 3:46 PM

      Stay classy Pittsburgh. Keep choking.

    • drewzducks - May 3, 2014 at 5:29 PM

Have a stroke. Oh wait, that’s already been done in $hitt$burgh.

  14. westof1club - May 3, 2014 at 2:55 PM

Haha! Subban owns the Bruins. Keep whining, all the way to 0-2!
Never seen a team (or fans) so eager to talk and play dirty, and then whine sooo hard when the tables are turned!

    • thesportsjudge - May 3, 2014 at 3:13 PM

So you are saying Montreal is “playing dirty?”

    • thesportsjudge - May 3, 2014 at 3:25 PM

You mean the -2 Subban? Where is it 0-2?

    • pepper2011 - May 3, 2014 at 3:47 PM

      lol. nice effort.

  15. drewsylvania - May 3, 2014 at 3:13 PM

What just happened to Krejci (Hab player jumps on his head while he’s lying on the ice) is little different than what Thornton did to Orpik. But, well, it’s the Habs.

  16. bsfan77 - May 3, 2014 at 3:23 PM

5 beats 3! Look out habnots! You have no chance when the B’s play their game!

  17. scottybcboy - May 3, 2014 at 3:26 PM

Great win for the B’s. I really don’t think there is a more clutch player in the league than 37.

  18. drewsylvania - May 3, 2014 at 3:27 PM

Thank god. They survived the usual imbalanced reffing and their own difficulties keeping their emotions in check when they play this dirty team.

    • drewzducks - May 3, 2014 at 5:35 PM

9 power plays to 5 so far, and these games were played in Boston. Doesn’t bode well, but we’ll see what happens. Gotta wake up their power play though.

I hate any team out of Canada
