Video: Rangers beat Fleury on third shot of game

May 2, 2014, 7:46 PM EDT

It didn’t take long for the Rangers to notch the first goal of their series against Pittsburgh — and it didn’t take long for Marc-Andre Fleury to surrender his first questionable tally of the series, either.

Benoit Pouliot scored his third of the playoffs on New York’s third shot of the game at the 5:04 mark, giving the Blueshirts (granted, tonight they’re Whiteshirts) a 1-0 lead:

Just less than 12 minutes later, Brad Richards scored to make it 2-0 Rangers. We’ll have video of that one up shortly.

MAF, the flower that blooms in the fall, dies in the spring.

Same old same old in Pittsburgh….

Bad start Pens. Real bad start.

wow. gotta come up with that one. It’s one thing to not come up with great saves in the playoffs. Usually teams need that in the post season, but with a good enough team (like the Pens) you should be able to get by if you just don’t let in any weak goals

That was basically the definition of a weak goal

I guess the Penguins decided to start Santa Clause in net tonight….

After this softy, he almost handed the Rangers another one by misplaying the puck behind the net, and then over committed way too early on the second goal. Granted I won’t blame Fluery completely for that second one since he was hung out to dry, but a “world class” goaltender should have at least made Richards work for it….. not go flopping around at the first sign of a deke.

Is 87 playing tonight? This guy is sucking. if he doesn’t step up the NHL should make Toews the face of the league.

Why should he shine in the playoffs. He did shine in the regular season

These flyer fans just won’t go away. Got more stamina than their hockey team. What a joke

@broadstreet.. I don’t comment much, but everytime I go down and scroll through the comments of any Pens/Crosby article. You’re saying something about how they suck.. Please do us a favor and get a life.

    P.S.
    What’s the score now?

Broad street should head down to the rink and help Giroux clean out his locker.

  11. navyeoddavee9 - May 2, 2014 at 9:03 PM

Broad street should go and caddy for Giroux

    • Hockeyfan - May 2, 2014 at 9:30 PM

Giroux shouldn’t play golf after last summers injury.
