Mike Brown back in for Sharks in Game 7

Apr 30, 2014, 10:05 PM EDT

San Jose Sharks head coach Todd McLellan, looking to avoid coughing up a 3-0 series lead in the seventh and deciding game against the L.A. Kings in this first-round match-up, is shaking up his lineup.

As per Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area, Mike Brown is in the lineup for the Sharks and Martin Havlat is out. Brown has a goal and assist in this series (see his goal here), each coming in the first two games. The rugged forward has also been a physical presence in the game’s he’s played in this series.

In goal, the Sharks are going back to Antti Niemi, who didn’t start Game 6 after being pulled in the previous two games – both losses for San Jose.

m brown’s gonna go about his shoving as usual; shoving players into opposing goaltenders. surprised?

About as surprised as I am when Dustin Brown leads a hit with a knee. Which is to say, not at all.

Says a lot about Havlat that they simply scratch him every time a game actually matters. In favour of Mike Brown no less. Not sure it’s the best call for the Sharks, but it sure as hell doesn’t reflect well on him.

I prefer Mike Brown playing over Havlat. Sharks need the 4th line to be booming with hits tonight. Plus Brown has heart, you can see it when he plays. Plays hard every single shift. That’s always a big plus.

wow, i have to admit…..i was surprised that not a single player got shoved into quick…

in addition, torres did not marian hossa any kings player tonight.

now THAT….is a surprise. (and thank goodness lol)

This might not be a popular decision but I believe that The Sharks should resign Mike Brown. He gives the team that toughness that they lacked in the playoffs. The guy plays with a lot of heart and give 110% everytime he is on the ice. You gotta love that in a depth player.
