It could be elimination day for the Detroit Red Wings in Boston when they face the Bruins in Game 5.

The Bruins took a commanding 3-1 lead in the series with their overtime win in Game 4. The Red Wings are countering the Bruins with the return of Daniel Alfredsson to the lineup as well as swapping out Jakub Kindl for Xavier Ouellet.

The Bruins were in this position last year against the Toronto Maple Leafs being up 3-1 and back at home looking to close things out. As Milan Lucic said earlier, they’d like to avoid reliving last season’s fate.

Jonas Gustavsson will have to try and out-duel Tuukka Rask in goal and considering how well Rask has played all season, it would appear the Red Wings are really up against it.

Eddie olczyk’s anti Red Wing bias is truly annoying. Can’t NBC find someone who can be objective? He’s a weak analyst anyway, trotting out the exact same clichés game after game.

Every Wings fan blames Edzo for their losses.

      • hockeydon10 - Apr 26, 2014 at 7:28 PM

No, not for the losses. Just annoying listening to his biases. His Chicago homerisms are really annoying, and that bleeds over into his “Detroit bad” attitude.

Take a look at video of Seabrook’s suspension hit and how he tries so valiantly to make it seem like Seabrook did nothing wrong.

Eddie Olczyk’s anti-Red Wing bias is truly annoying! Can’t NBC find someone who can call an objective game? His analysis is the lame anyway, trotting out the exact same cliches game after game after game. Dave Strader is excellent, the best announcer the NHL has.

Eddies annoying? Pierre Maquire is the absolute worst.

Not if you are a wings fan… Olczyks always been the same way, he praises the Bruins now but if they play the hawks in the Stanley Cup he will make the Bruins sound like the worst team ever as well. That’s why I turn the volume down and listen to it on local radio. Problem solved.

Doc Emmerich’s pre-pubescent voice is the worst.

Bill Clement and Gary Thorne deliver us from these hacks.

  6. drewzducks - Apr 26, 2014 at 5:06 PM

Amen 101…Thorne is far and away the best play by play guy today. Doc sounds like a Dan Canney wannabe. He makes every shot on net sound like it’s OT of Game 7.

forget the broadcasters … the mute button fixes that … unless your in need of hockey basics from edzo

but have you ever seen a big bunch of diving, whining posers than the big bad bruins … even iginla’s sold his soul … air iginla … is it the air in boston or what

if bruins aren’t after someone’s nuts, they’re whinging about every call, every slight … it’s all so déclassé

bring on a team less spineless than wings, someone who’ll shove down it down there throats

should these pigs meet canadiens, it’ll be less hockey and tears and more whining and more tears

    • aljack88 - Apr 26, 2014 at 5:42 PM

“spineless, diving whining posers” – you just described the Canadians. You’re either a Habs’ fan or you’ve never watched them play.

      • 101starmymedic - Apr 26, 2014 at 5:48 PM

They’re both diving and whining experts.

      • gallyhatch - Apr 26, 2014 at 10:08 PM

Considering all the gay jokes, and comments about male genitalia from muckle in the last few days, I’m not going to worry about what he thinks is déclassé.

I’m a huge wings fan, have been for 18 since years now. But I was literally just watching and thinking, why do I like them, they used to have heart and played with grit, they got dirty and deep, they weren’t afraid to take a hit or dish one out.

They just play so, pathetically now. Bums me out, game 1 was the only game where they went in and just gave it their all. I respected that. That is the play that keeps me a fan. It’s just so few and far between now.

They play like a bunch of delicate flowers. It’s sad to watch really.
