The L.A. Kings busted a must-win game for them wide open early in the third period and that meant San Jose Sharks goalie Antti Niemi got pulled.

Marian Gaborik‘s second goal of the game, scored 34 seconds into the final period, gave L.A. a 5-2 lead and San Jose head coach Todd McLellan decided to take Niemi out of the game for Alex Stalock.

Niemi made 21 saves on 26 shots faced.

The Kings are in need of a win to prolong the series. Heading into tonight’s game, they trailed the Sharks 3-0 in the series.

This is why I never $hit talked or acted like the sharks had this series in the bag. You don’t talk until the battle is won (and then 3 more after that).

heh, there was never a shortage of garbage talk in the other articles (not saying you, but others have).

believe me as a kings fan i’m surprised myself.

As a sharks fan niemi is really overrated and should not start game 5. Every shot on goal is an adventure with him, whether its a huge rebound on an easy shot or just him flailing around in the net. I have a lot more confidence in stalock with his rebound control and he is probably one of the best stickhandling goalies in the league, Niemi could be the worst.

You must not remember Nabokov and the adventurous 5-hole. Plus, Niemi is so much better at stickhandling than Nabokov ever was.

I do but I don’t see what Nabokov has to do with this. I’m saying we should start Stalock over Niemi. You’re not setting the bar very high by comparing every sharks goalie to Nabby.

I’ll still talk trash. The Kings stole one game at home. Now they have to go to San Jose where Quick has let in a combined 12 goals. Not to worried about a comeback from LA. Wish the refs stopped getting involved in every shoving match. How are teams supposed to have a fight and get their team pumped. Stop policing the games so much.

i’ve asked you this in a different article and i’ll ask here again…have you ever win or lose graciously before?

oh god. we all expected the kings to come hard in this game i mean come on. they are about to get swept. now the question is can they get a win at san jose? prob not.

As a Kings fan I don’t like our chances. To win this series, you have to win 2 at the Tank and I don’t see that happening. Going down 0-3 pretty much sealed the deal for the Sharks to move on, just saying.
