NBC will start today’s doubleheader at 12:00 p.m. ET with the Flyers versus Rangers.

New York has taken a 1-0 lead in the first round series after cruising to a 4-1 victory in Game 1. In order to bounce back, Philadelphia will likely need more from its top line of Claude Giroux, Scott Hartnell, and Jakub Voracek.

The trio combined for just two shots on goal — both by Hartnell — in the series opener and the Rangers were also able to routinely shut down the Flyers’ top line in the 2013-14 campaign.

“They play us tough,” Hartnell told CSN Philly. “[Derek] Stepan is a great center and down low he is good with his stick. [Ryan] McDonagh is tough to get position on him. [Dan] Girardi is a big guy in front and makes it tough to get to the net.

“We need a harder game. Jake and G, we’ve talked about it. We just need to be better and faster and more consistent every shift.”

You know whats sad you really mean that because the PHILADELPHIA FLYERS HOCKEY ORGANIZATION scares the crap out of you but after last night the Jackets may take care of that fear for you ahhahahahahah !

I’d rather suck a lobstah than a cheesesteak. That said: I’m a huge fan of the great state of Pennsylvania but I don’t favor the Flyers of Penguins. I like them both and hop[e they meet up next round.

If the Flyers put on another performance like on Thursday night, you can begin breaking out the brooms.

    That was pathetic.

Ha. Looks like emery wasn’t so useless today. Go flyers

      • idonthavethebloodyoucrave - Apr 20, 2014 at 3:08 PM

        Emery completely out dueled Henry.

        Emery was excellent.

        Henry wasn’t.

        That was the game.

Now which Flyer team will show up in game 3?

    Wow. Henry is a dumb-ass.

Too many men penalty when trying to pull the goalie … so fail.

  8. fortarnold - Apr 20, 2014 at 2:58 PM

Yyyeeeaaahhhh buddy!! That was huge for the Flyers’ psyche! Takin it back home split 1-1!

    • mcphillthy - Apr 20, 2014 at 3:10 PM

Advantage Philly now. Emery was solid today. Defense had only a few giveaways. Time to take it home to Philly.

  12. bleedrangerblue - Apr 20, 2014 at 3:42 PM

I’m gale all you flyer fans are happy. Yesterday you had them being swept. And you threw Emery under the bus. He was great today. Keep In mind flyer fans your team was one of the top teams in the second half this yr. I still believe the Rangers win This series. See ya Tuesday night…

  13. bleedrangerblue - Apr 20, 2014 at 3:43 PM

  14. bleedrangerblue - Apr 20, 2014 at 3:45 PM

And I said yesterday they need to concentrate on hockey. Not the dirty stuff. They did. BUT I’ve nicknamed Giroux “paul Bunyon”. He’s always hacking at something.
