Injured Doughty would like to ‘get in a game before the playoffs’

Out of the lineup for almost a week with a shoulder injury, Kings defenseman Drew Doughty would like to play at least one game before the playoffs start next week.

His options are down to tomorrow in Edmonton and Saturday at home versus Anaheim. He won’t play tonight in Calgary, according to the Los Angeles Times.

“It’s important to get a game under you — if you can — just before playoffs,” Doughty said this morning.

“Even just taking a game off, you kind of lose it. Sometimes that first or second shift is a difference maker. If you’re slacking at one point during that shift, they could score a goal and that could be the winner.

“Ideally, if I could get in a game before the playoffs, that’d be great.”

The Kings are likely to face San Jose in the first round, though a match-up with Ducks remains a possibility.

Get healthy, Dewey. We want you back @ 100%. We NEED you back @ 100%. The Kings go golfing early without you in the game.

“The Kings go golfing early without you in the game” …

speak for yourself pal … I love Doughty just as much as anyone, however ‘never’ ever do we Kings waver when one of our own is felled in the line ! … on the contrary, such loss does nothing but ‘up the ante’ in terms of our conviction and resolve to prevail victorious !

Sangfroid: translated from the French meaning ‘cold’ blood … credo of the British army for centuries and quite literally the reason why English is the universal speak of the world today !

GO KINGS GO !!! … TODAY, TOMORROW AND FOREVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know, blom? You’re becoming a real pita.

The last time I commented about the Kings, you admonished me for referring to them as ‘they,’ rather than ‘we.’ At the time, you wrote that this was a free & democratic society; yet, in this so-called democracy, you believe that you call the shots.

Now, you tell me to speak for myself. Again, I’m whipsawed by your constant back-and-forth.

The Kings don’t go deep in the playoffs without Doughty. THERE! I spoke for myself.

Now, leave me alone, would you?
