Islanders lose Clutterbuck (upper body) for the night

Apr 8, 2014, 8:42 PM EDT

The New York Islanders announced that winger Cal Clutterbuck‘s Tuesday ended early thanks to an upper-body injury.

It’s unclear how Clutterbuck was injured (feel free to share details in the comments), but he seemed aware that something was awry during the game:

The Ottawa Senators may be relieved to see the 26-year-old off the ice. Clutterbuck is one of the hardest (or at least most frequent) hitters in the league; He came into Tuesday fourth in the NHL with 268 hits in 72 games played.
