Apr 4, 2014, 12:02 AM EDT

This isn’t good news for the L.A. Kings.

Defenseman Drew Doughty left Thursday’s game against the San Jose Sharks with an upper-body injury and was not expected to return, according to Lisa Dillman of the L.A. Times. In 77 games this season with the Kings, the 24-year-old Doughty has 10 goals and 37 points.

Updated: As per, Doughty will not return to the game.

    Hope it isn’t collarbone.

Did not look serious. Wonder what it could be. Collarbone is a good guess, that may actually be what’s wrong. If that’s the case I don’t see Doughty playing in the first round.

if it is, it will likely be longer than the first round. gaborik was out a little over 2 months with a collarbone this year. definitely would suck for them/him.

If anything is wrong with DD, the Kings would be whole lot less scary in the playoffs. DD does a lot of carrying for that team.

NOT good. You just invited karma to come back and take a piece of one of the Sharks.

Wow, just lost any respect I had for you. You usually carry yourself pretty good on these boards but a comment like that wishing injury on anyone is just not on a human level. You are scum, Sharks fan.

That’s unfortunate for the Kings. Doughty is by far their best D-man, and outside of Quick and Kopitar, their best player.
