Video: Bishop’s horrendous pass leads to opening Calgary goal

Apr 3, 2014, 8:13 PM EST

Erik Erlendsson of the Tampa Bay Times tweeted the best and most appropriate intro for this vid…

Oh, it caught up to him alright. Mike Cammalleri‘s 25th goal of the season, and Calgary’s first of the night, couldn’t come in an easier fashion:

Bishop’s rough night got worse exactly 15 seconds later, as Kevin Westgarth — yeah, Kevin Westgarth — scored his fourth of the year to give the Flames a 2-0 lead.

Yikes. To be honest he’s actually made a lot of solid passes this season, but he does fool around with the puck too often and this is a prime example of why he needs to be a bit more careful.

    Ouch.

Either you are a puck-handling goalie or…well…you’re better off staying in your crease.

    Sick assist though.

Lindback needs to start a few so Bish can clean up and get some rest before the playoffs. They should split the games down the middle with those two for the remainder of the games.

I think that fact that Bishop continues to play virtually every game points out the loss in confidence by the Bolts in Lindback’s play. That being said, Bishop is not playing at the level he was earlier in the season either. His save % prior to the Olympic break was .933. Since the Olmpic break it is hovering around .910

Bishop also got away with a giveaway leading to a wide open net goal about A WEEK AGO. The opponent intercepted his long pass and shot it into the open goal (from outside the blue line) but the goal was negated due to a offside call against the shooting team. The were making a line change when the pass was picked off but the door to enter the bench (for the guys leaving the ice) was just inside the blue line-hence the offsides call. Same bonehead play by Bishop though.

Lindback’s past few games have been solid, the team wasn’t. We could’ve easily beaten PIT had it not been for bad officiating.
