Jets chase Tim Thomas early in second period

Mar 16, 2014, 9:28 PM EDT

Tim Thomas barely made it into the second period of Sunday’s important game between the Dallas Stars and Winnipeg Jets before he was pulled for backup Cristopher Nilstorp.

Whether you paint it as Thomas having a tough go of things (four goals allowed on 17 shots), a message to the Stars from head coach Lindy Ruff (allowing 17 shots in a little more than a period is … less than ideal) or a combination of the two, this outing might make the Stars more anxious to get Kari Lehtonen back.

One thing that seems reasonable to say is that Blake Wheeler was a thorn in Thomas’ side on Sunday; he collected a primary assist on three of the four goals Thomas allowed.

Wheeler’s third helper came on this Olli Jokinen tally, which was the last straw:

I gotta think Tim Thomas is happy living in Dallas.

I gotta think Timmy forgot what happiness was a long time ago

Timmy Thomas could use some ObamaCare right about now for the headache and bruised ego he’s got going on.

Or maybe AAA to get his tires pumped.

If the other three goals were like that last one in the video, I don’t see how you absolve the rest of the team.

Dallas left both goalies out to dry last night.

Timmy misses Chara & Seidenberg knocking dudes all over the place in front of him.

    Lets go Timmy.

Good for you Sir! You got that year off and now Dallad fans have to suffer..but you are in a better place…Texas seems more your speed. From what I hear its easy to score on Thomas’ left side..I hear he leans so far right and thinks the left isnt worth his effort.

Yeah how’s Philly dealing with trading away a Vezina goaltender? Pretty much been a bungled goaltender situation since Hextall left

Well..as my original comment wasnt intended to insult anyone but Timmy T..you must be a sensitive type of DarksideCowboy..so sorry about that..

As for the Flyers goalie situation and Bob. I can only tell you he got better when he left Philly, as new surroundings has the ability to do..and a new goalie coach. That guy Mason has done ok if you ever heard of him..he was touted as ok a while back, he was drafted some some place in the first couple of rounds..heard he won an award or two. But he also played for a bad team and horrible GM. So Philly seems to be doing ok since Bob left..how about you guys…oh yeah Thomas..sorry.

As you heard of Hextall I assume you have been watching hockey for a while..or are just parroting what othet people say. Eh, either way..

And if you are a Stars fan we could compare the Flyers recond since inception to the Stars since they moved from Minnesota..wanna do that?
