Video: Perron scores in return to St. Louis

Traded to the Oilers from the Blues in the offseason, David Perron had spent all season waiting for his return to St. Louis.

On Thursday, he celebrated the reunion in style.

Perron scored his 25th goal of the season to open the scoring at Scottrade, converting a Taylor Hall pass to give Edmonton a 1-0 lead:

The off-season trade itself didn’t come as much of a surprise, with Perron saying he had a ‘gut feeling’ he was going to be dealt. But he also felt misunderstood in St. Louis.

“I believe I was a lot actually,” he told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch last summer.

Perron’s been nothing but solid in Edmonton this year, and looks likely to surpass his career high of 50 points (he now has 47m with 19 games left in the season.)

Perron wasn’t the only one scoring a memorable goal tonight, though. Vladimir Sobotka scored his eighth of the season and first since returning from a 12-game absence due to a leg injury.
