Video: Corban Knight scores first NHL goal

Mar 13, 2014, 1:47 AM EDT

The result was never in question, but that didn’t lessen the excitement of Corban Knight when he scored his first National Hockey League goal on Wednesday.

Knight scored Calgary’s seventh goal in a 7-2 victory over the Pacific Division-leading Anaheim Ducks, spinning and then taking a slap shot from the slot. Knight, 23, was playing in his fifth NHL game.

Backes: You know whats going to happen here in the morning ? The whole damn King’s army is going to be here. They’ll move through this town, occupy these hills on the other side and when our people get here Sutter will have the high ground. There will be the devil to pay! The high ground! Hitchcock will come in slowly, cautiously. New to command. They’ll be on his back in Saint Louis, wire hot with messages ‘Attack! Attack!’. So he will set up a ring around these hills. And when Sutter’s army is nicely entrenched behind fat rocks on the high ground, Hitchcock will finally attack, if he can coordinate the army. Straight up the hillside, out in the open, in that gorgeous field of fire. We will charge valiantly… and be butchered valiantly! And afterwards men in tall hats and gold watch fobs will thump their chest and say what a brave charge it was. I’ve led a soldier’s life, and I’ve never seen anything as brutally clear as this.

Executive Summary: in addition to Saint Louis, the entire WC ‘elite’ now knows ‘exactly’ what’s coming their way …

    So….what about them DUCKS.

They haven’t been doing so well since D. PENNER been traded to Washington Capitals.

    F. Andersen seems to be not the answer, should of kept V. Fasth.

Ducks since March 5th in last 4 games are Goals against 17, scored only 8, and 0-4.

Ducks did not do anything major at trade deadline, other than a couple minor moves. Don’t give me this would of, could of, should of either with Kesler because as already noted, Kesler said himself where he would like to go, if anywhere, and DUCKS NOT one of them.

Even though it is a little rut the DUCKS are in right now, like many teams go through, that I am NOT sold on this team, neither are the folks from NHL Network, as they did not have DUCKS as their top 5 in NHL for a reason and simply because they got to prove themselves in playoffs an all.

It also does not matter where the DUCKS are in the standing because stats don’t mean much when playoffs come around. Just look at the LA Kings back in 2011-12′ when they won the Stanly Cup as the 8th seed by beating the top 3 seeded teams in playoffs.

    GO KINGS GO!!!

They are looking more like a Boudreau-coached team.
