Martin St. Louis isn’t the only player making his debut following the trade deadline on Wednesday, as both the Philadelphia Flyers and Washington Capitals play on NBCSN tonight. NHL Live is already in gear, so get ready for the game with the live stream link below:

Granted, the two notable debuts are from trades that happened on Tuesday, rather than the quick turnaround for St. Louis. Dustin Penner was a surprise trade from Anaheim to the Capitals, but he’ll try to give his new team some secondary scoring as they fight desperately for a playoff spot. Other Washington additions aren’t expected to make the trip tonight.

The Flyers were relatively quiet in the trade deadline, but they did sent Andrej Meszaros away while adding Andrew MacDonald to the mix (the latter of which debuts for Philly).

The Capitals finds themselves one point behind second wild card holder Columbus as of this writing while Philadelphia is just a little more comfortable at sixth place with 70 standings points (two more than Washington), so there’s plenty on the line in this one.

  3. sjsharks66 - Mar 5, 2014 at 8:42 PM

Embarrassing antics by the Flyers. 3 guys on one cap player? Simmonds stays after being the third man in? 2 of the caps tough guys tossed for nothing.

    Typical game in Philly.

No problem with fighting. When you have 3 guys on 1 player and then a 3rd man in, then theres a problem. Especially when the officials stand and watch.

Can’t recall if a third man in penalty is called if that player reaches in while he himself is engaged with another player .

      • jbink2585 - Mar 5, 2014 at 9:05 PM

Erskine is picking on VInny when Simmonds was right there and it was far from a 3 on 1 and it was all sarted by Wilson, because Schenn delievered a clean check so give me a break with the 3 on 1 ish

      • 7mantel - Mar 5, 2014 at 9:19 PM

? was your rely to sjsharks

      • jbink2585 - Mar 5, 2014 at 9:07 PM

TYPICAL ANTI FLYER guy who tell half the truth and a slanted story to over embleish the truth against the Flyers. The Caps got the PP as they should, but 3 on 1 not it wasnt

    Forget the penalties…

“We need scoring,” said GMGM in his mind, “there’s nothing wrong with our D. Mike Green is a Grade-A defender.”

How is Holtby still a starter in this league?? He had a couple of nice playoff runs, but other than that, he doesn’t appear capable of handling a full season. Biggest mistake by the Caps was to go away from Grabauer (sp?) earlier in the year when he hit a little rough patch.

  12. ovechcant - Mar 5, 2014 at 10:02 PM

Game, set, match on the caps season. Ovechkin and green have been awful and backstrom is non existent. You can put this failure on those three. They are a core that cannot and will not ever win in this league. Most caps fans have blinders on. This is a poorly run organization that cares about one thing and that’s the assholes paying for seats. I’ve lived this team for 30 years. Don’t think I can do it anymore. Certainly don’t want my kids to watch this.
