Daniel Sedin hobbles off ice during second period

Mar 2, 2014, 5:38 PM EST

Daniel Sedin appeared to injur his right leg about five minutes into the second period of Sunday’s Heritage Classic match between the Ottawa Senators and Vancouver Canucks.

Cameras caught Sedin, 33, in obvious pain following the hit by Marc Methot.

Update: Team 1040 reports that Sedin won’t return to the game.

Here’s video of that awkward fall.

That doesn’t look good at all. PHT will keep an eye out for updates regarding Sedin’s condition. Prediction: it will be deemed a lower-body injury.

At least he blew it out now and not next year. They’re not going to playoffs anyway…

It’s time to blow this team up

because of what exactly? the team was 6-7 point clear battling for third in the Pacific div with L.A. when injuries took hold and took out their top dmen and multiple top six forwards. it’d be tough to contend with all those injuries all at once for any team.

they still have a shot at a wild card spot. if they get one, look out. the team is not in as bad shape as all the doom and gloom, the sky is falling types would have you believe. The eastern media (cbc) as I’ve said before is never on top of things when it comes to the Canucks. Always making up their own storyline (negative)…

Knee didn’t do anything that odd. A little bit of lateral bend, but it flexes pretty fast there. It almost looks for like the last thrust could have done something to the hip. If I’d have to choose between knee or hip, I’d take knee any day!

L labrum or other hip capsule injury. He’ll be back next season!

That didn’t look good, and that could be a problem if they want to trade kesler. Get better soon

    • flyerspsu - Mar 2, 2014 at 7:06 PM

im thinking if its a serious injury they are going to be much more inclined to trade Kesler considering there chances of making the playoffs now are slim to none
