Tough times in Tampa’s goal with Lindback out, Bishop questionable

Tampa Bay will want to erase all memories of Thursday’s 5-3 loss in Ottawa, and not just because of the scoreline.

The Bolts lost both of their of goalies against the Sens -- Ben Bishop, who left less than two minutes in after colliding with Nikita Kucherov and Anders Lindback, who was hurt while getting tangled up with Cory Conacher.

Here’s the latest on the pair, from the Tampa Bay Times:

Even though Ben Bishop practiced he is questionable for Sat vs. Habs. With Lindback out, Cooper didn’t rule out 2 goalies being called up.

Cooper said Lindback was hurt when he was run over by Conacher. Called Lindback’s performance “gutty” for staying in game.

Cooper also said don’t expect to see Lindback before the Olympic break. If Bishop does not play vs Habs, likely back for Tues at Wild.

The Bolts next play on Saturday in a matinee (1 p.m. ET) against Montreal. After that, the club has three games remaining until the Olympic break (against Minnesota, Toronto and Detroit) before getting some much-needed rest between Feb. 9-25.

If Tampa Bay needs to call up a goalie it’ll likely be Cedrick Desjardins, who appeared in three games for the club last season.

Update: Lindback’s injury could be serious. According to the Tampa Tribune, he felt a “pop” in his ankle, the same one that gave him issues last season and saw him miss 14 games.
