No Mike Green for Caps vs. Detroit

Jan 31, 2014, 7:49 PM EDT

The Washington Capitals are rolling without Mike Green against the Detroit Red Wings in a game that began recently on Friday.

The Washington Post reports that Green, 28, suffered a possible concussion from this hit by Columbus Blue Jackets Boone Jenner from Thursday, which didn’t draw league discipline:

Green has 30 points in 51 games this season. After a long goal-scoring drought to begin the season, he has all seven of his goals in the last two months.
