Report: Four outdoor games likely for next season

Jan 29, 2014, 11:27 AM EDT

From TSN’s Darren Dreger:

As Dreger mentions, there’s been no shortage of teams looking to host an outdoor game:

Coyotes have ‘been pretty vocal’ about Arizona outdoor game, says chairman

NHL confirms Ottawa will get outdoor game

Winnipeg to get outdoor game

The success of Saturday’s Kings-Ducks game at Dodger Stadium likely means other warm-climate teams will be in the mix for an outdoor affair. Like the Coyotes, the Sharks have already expressed interest and looked at three possible sites for a game: AT&T Park in San Francisco, Stanford Stadium or Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, the new home of the NFL’s 49ers.

As for confirmed outdoor games for next year, the Washington Capitals have already been awarded the 2015 Winter Classic, and it’s been reported that Nationals Park — home of the MLB’s Washington Nationals — will be selected as the venue.
