Video: Ovechkin scores twice in less than one minute

Jan 28, 2014, 8:24 PM EDT

When it comes to goal-scoring this season, it’s basically Alex Ovechkin and everyone else. He showed his quick-strike ability on Tuesday, scoring two goals less than a minute apart against the Buffalo Sabres:

To give you an idea about the distance between Ovechkin and other top snipers, consider that his 38 goals give him a 10-goal lead as of this writing. Coming into Tuesday, no one else had cracked the 30-goal mark.

Ovi is sick, I don’t care who you support. Oates figured out how to open him up on that new wing and he’s been dirty ever since. Even if you don’t like him because of whatever reason you want to choose, you can’t deny he’s one of, if not the best, goal scorers in the league.

Yeah, there’s no denying that Ovi and Stammer are the two best scorers in the league.

      MOVE OVER CINDY !

Yes, it must now be clearly evident to all that Ovechkin is the absolute ‘best of the best’ and no one comes even remotely close to his ‘supreme’ greatness, including that Girl Scout from Nova Scotia. After all, you just have to look up the word ‘esprit de corps’ in the dictionary and there you’ll find a picture of none other than Ovi himself, replete with his Cro-Magnon features and Soviet-era dentistry smile. This man literally ‘oozes’ with selflessness and his commitment to the ‘group cause’ is beyond refute ! :)

GO OVI !!! … TODAY, TOMORROW AND FOREVER !!!!!!

Holy 103 down votes.. Oh yeah, I forgot this is Blomfield.. Never mind, I understand now.

The fact that somebody put the time and effort into creating such a gibberish rant is really sad for me to see. I feel sorry for you.

    Wow.

  3. live4hockey - Jan 28, 2014 at 9:44 PM

How the hell is he a -13??!

    • c9castine - Jan 28, 2014 at 11:02 PM

cause he can only score goals. THAT IS IT. even when he hits its borderline illegal every time.

      • stringhama - Jan 29, 2014 at 12:18 PM

Oh yeah like that pass on greens OTGWG, Ovechkin’s linemates have been unable to score this year. Just look at the shooting percentage of his teammates when he is on the ice

      • c9castine - Jan 29, 2014 at 12:20 PM

you think the only thing i was thinking of was passing?

    • jpelle82 - Jan 29, 2014 at 9:19 AM

that and he scores on the powerplay a lot…dont get a plus for that.

    • vm113 - Jan 29, 2014 at 1:07 PM

Plus/minus is a team earned stat, not individual. We all obviously know Ovie doesn’t have much of a team around him. He’s being asked to score goals, that’s his job. That’s why he’s shooting the puck more than ever, and isn’t putting up the assists. I know a lot of his haters struggle with common sense, but it’s not rocket science.

How the heck is he a -13??!

    • rabidbillsfan - Jan 28, 2014 at 9:48 PM

At least 25% of his points, if not more, are with the man advantage. Not a knock, but just sayin’.

  5. westof1club - Jan 28, 2014 at 10:11 PM

Yeah. He sucks. Power play specialist. Loafer. Selfish. Have I covered all the haters bases?

  6. ibieiniid - Jan 28, 2014 at 10:52 PM

did anybody else see OV throw the tongue fake on Enroth on that game winning assist?

  7. dropthepuckeh - Jan 28, 2014 at 11:00 PM

  8. deeznutz3d - Jan 29, 2014 at 9:03 AM

Ovie is so dangerous on those faceoff win/one timers in the opposing end…..does anyone know how many he has like that this season?

  9. jakehroo - Jan 29, 2014 at 10:35 PM

It is against Buffalo….. They are by far the worst team in the league…
