Video: Nazem Kadri’s slick backhand goal

Jan 28, 2014, 8:54 PM EDT

The Nazem Kadri trade rumor mill will probably go silent for at least one night, as the Toronto Maple Leafs forward scored twice in the second period on Tuesday.

His second tally against the Tampa Bay Lightning was especially brilliant:

Since you’re here, you might as well check out the first one, too:

The 23-year-old has been on quite the tear lately. He came into tonight with seven points in six games, so he’ll finish with nine in his last seven if he doesn’t get on the scoreboard again.

That second goal is really sick.

    The kid can play.

Props to Leafs. Kadri made some great moves. Hedman and his all too familiar stick checking looked like a pylon at practice. Dumb mistake by Gudas loses us an important point.

Great back and forth by both teams and sick save by Vernier on St Louis at the end.

One note…not too cool with the very late head shot JVR gave JT Brown. Seems like he is OK, but dangerous and unnecessary.

      Bernier… damn autocorrect.

Good for Naz! After Don Cherry’s calling him out, Carlyle’s blunt assessment of him in 24/7, being moved to the 3rd line, and his name being mentioned regarding a trade, it would seem as if he got the message. Glad to see it.

(sort of reminds me of Marchand’s recent surge)
