It’s going to be cold at Yankee Stadium

Jan 23, 2014, 4:01 PM EDT

Heading to Yankee Stadium on Sunday afternoon or Wednesday evening? You’ll want to bundle up. Via The Weather Network, here’s the forecast for those two days:

source:

Sunday’s game — between the Rangers and Devils, starting at 12:30 p.m. ET (on NBC) — should be the balmier of the two. Hopefully the fans attending Wednesday’s Rangers-Islanders showdown (7:30 p.m. ET, NBCSN) can warm themselves with the hate of the longstanding rivalry between the two teams. Otherwise, they may want to wear a scarf or something.

Anyway, here’s a time-lapse video of the rink build, complete with background music that’s about as close to the theme from New York, New York as legally allowed without having to pay royalties:

Incoming annoying comments from Canadians talking about how it isn’t even that bad -_-

Should we talk about the backwards imperial system instead?

      • gret9 - Jan 23, 2014 at 4:21 PM

imperial system rules, metric system drools. ;)

        Haha!

Looks like good outdoor hockey weather to me.

Killer, yah! Unless I’m mistaken, isn’t it, like, um, winter? The Kafkaesque experience will be watching an outdoor game in L.A. with temps in the 60s.

    That’s actually not bad

The colder it is, the cheaper the tickets will be on stubhub. I don’t mind cold weather.

I feel I should be offended, but I have no idea what you just said.

This is how the weather should be for an outdoor hockey game. It’s supposed to be cold.

60,000+ chanting ‘beat your wife Potvin’ that should be a proud moment for the league.

Maybe at Yankee Stadium they’ll have a momentary lapse of reason and accidentially play the tune for the Rangers fans instead of some poor frozen guy trying to make himself heard whistling it.

This is why they invented TV.
