It’s not outrageous to say that the Columbus Blue Jackets are at their all-time peak in the franchise’s 1,000th game. They extended their franchise record winning streak to eight games in an impressive 5-2 win against the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday.

After the win, head coach Todd Richards spoke about “creating an identity,” and they might have found it in the attitude Brandon Dubinsky describes.

“It’s a dogfight. We know what happens when you don’t get enough points,” Dubinsky said. “Relentless is a good word to use right now.”

Sergei Bobrovsky didn’t deny that it meant a little more for him to beat the Flyers, either, as the Columbus Dispatch’s Aaron Portzline reports.

Q. ‘Did you have money on the board?’ Bob: ‘Sure.’ Q. ‘Can you say how much?’ Bob: (pause) ‘Nah.’

Really, though, the highlight of the night might be Nathan Horton’s beauty of a goal:
