Janssen on waivers; Brunner ready to go?

Jan 20, 2014, 12:20 PM EDT

Anyone need an enforcer?

Janssen has three goals and no assists in 24 games this season, with 22 penalty minutes. The 29-year-old is a pending unrestricted free agent with a cap hit of $550,000.

The Devils haven’t said what they intend to do with Janssen should he clear waivers. However, he’s already played a handful of games with AHL Albany this season, so a demotion would seem likely, thus paving the way for the return of Damien Brunner tomorrow when New Jersey hosts St. Louis.

Considering it’s Cam Janssen, I am surprised that he has that many goals, and that few penalty minutes so far this season.

It would not shock me if Brian Burke picked him up for the Flames.

He has actually been playing more “intelligently” in the games he has appeared in…

3 goals in 24 games? Why send someone down when they’re having a career year?

I really hope they are not rushing brunner back.. granted the team cant score I’d rather have him back fully healthy than rush him back just to see him play bad or just get hurt again.
