All good things must come to an end, and for the Philadelphia Flyers their 10-game home winning streak did just that with a thud in a 6-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Ryan Malone had two goals and Alex Killorn, Teddy Purcell, and Valtteri Filppula each had a goal and an assist to lead the Lightning. Martin St. Louis also scored his 20th goal of the season.

For the Flyers, Jakub Voracek had two goals but goalie Steve Mason gave up five goals in 17 shots and was replaced by Ray Emery at the start of the third period.

It wasn’t all good news for Tampa Bay, however, as Sami Salo left the game in the first period after taking a puck off his ankle and Victor Hedman left the game late in the third period after taking a high hit from Flyers forward Scott Hartnell.

Check out the highlights from CSNPhilly.com to see how it all played out.

Wow the Flyers actually lost one. Oh well can’t win em all. Bad game by Mason, he did not look good today at all today.

That 10 game home streak got the flyers right back into the mix. It will be interesting to see what they can do in their next 10 home games.

And yet they are considered a ” dark horse” team. With that goaltending? Pulease!

Yeah Marty Brodeur, Patrick Roy, Quick, or Jacques Plante never let in 5 goals in a game. Try for more creative trolling next time.

There is really no embarrassment in losing to a good team. You can’t win every game.

thanks man, nice to see a pens fan with a little mutual respect

      • thephillyfanclub - Jan 12, 2014 at 1:13 AM

some of our fans can be idiots too, but its nice when each side has some mutual respect because its a great rivalry, definitely the best in the metro by far, arguably the entire league

Yeah I really don’t see the point of ripping other teams regardless if they are rivals or not. I may talk smack once and a while but it’s all in good fun. People who rip other teams are immature and it usually ends in some type of violence (trust me I have seen it with my own eyes). We have enough violence in the world, so we don’t need people fighting over sports teams. This is what people don’t get you are supposed to respect your rivals. Also in my opinion the Flyers are a very good team and they scare the crap out of me as a Penguins fan.

lindback had to make some good saves for tampa to win this and he did…the flyers registered 38 shots on net…also I would hate to see how good the lightning are going to be when stamkos comes back. tough loss but they hopefully will get back on track tomorrow night against new york rangers

Entertaining game for fans but a real hair puller for coaches. Bad turnovers by both teams made for a plethora of scoring chances. Bolts had some serious trouble handling the fore check and made A LOT of bone headed, limp passes.

Huge game changer was Tampa surviving the PK 5 on 3.

I know I’ll piss off a bunch of people here, but Philly already has an bad rep (and its not always deserved) for gooning it up in lost games. So, really think about this.

If the Bolts were down 2 goals late in the 3rd…how pissed would Philly fans be if Gudas 2 hand chopped Giroux on his wrists, Cote runs Couturier trying to get to the bench, then Crombeen blindsides Coburn with 4 min left?

do you have any proof that any of these things happened? didn’t think so.

Sure, it’s called “watching the game”.
