A couple of statements to pass along in the wake of the new hires in Buffalo.

First, from Senators general manager Bryan Murray after his assistant and nephew, Tim Murray, left to become the new Sabres’ GM:

“It is a day of mixed emotions for me, seeing Tim leave for the Buffalo Sabres. He was a great member of our staff and his contributions will be missed, but I’m also very proud that he is able to become a general manager in the National Hockey League. I want to formally congratulate him on this tremendous achievement.

“Tim has consistently shown the ability to be a tremendous talent evaluator and I’m confident that he’ll step in and do a great job for the Sabres. It is a testament to the quality of our hockey staff in Ottawa that Tim is prepared and able to make the move to lead another franchise.”

Next, here’s Columbus president of hockey operations John Davidson on Craig Patrick leaving his post as senior advisor to become special assistant and advisor to Buffalo’s hockey department:

“On behalf of Mr. McConnell, our ownership group and the entire Blue Jackets organization, I want to thank Craig for his service to our hockey club over the past two years. Craig is a consummate professional and gentleman who brought valuable experience and insight to the club and for that we are grateful. He was presented with a terrific opportunity in Buffalo and we wish him all the best.”
