Video: Flyers’ Rinaldo fights Habs’ Prust

Jan 8, 2014, 9:45 PM EDT

Zac Rinaldo of the Philadelphia Flyers and Brandon Prust of the Montreal Canadiens dropped the gloves in a spirited scrap during the second period of Wednesday’s game.

The fight occurred with the Flyers up 3-0. It also put Rinaldo one assist away from the coveted Gordie Howe Hat Trick (a goal, fight and assist in the same game). According to Dave Stubbs of the Montreal Gazette, it also counted as the 100th NHL fight for Prust.

Has Rinaldo ever won a fight?

Ask Antoine Roussel :)…..According to Hockeyfifghts.com he is 50/50
Keep in mind he is a middle weight not a heavy weight…..Though he will fight anyone win or lose it seems!

    ask BJ Crombeen

Good fight. Both players got some punches in. Prust with the win in overall control and connected punches.

I am not a Rinaldo fan but he never is one to back away from a fight. Even against bigger and more experienced fighters.

Crombeen still has Zac’s knuckle imprints tattooed on his cro-magnon skull.

Not a bad scrab… Rinaldo held his own. Miss him down at the AHL arena in Adirondack… that team RARELY stands up for themselves when they’re getting thrown around.

this has got to be the 7th or 8th time these two have fought, i dont think rinaldo has won a single one. they used to see each other more with prust in ny, seems to have developed into a good personal rivalry between the two, its almost a given every time they play each other that this happens.

to be fair, Prust has 25 or 30 lbs on Zac and Prust is one of the best fighters in the league. at least he holds his own and doesn’t get knocked out.

yeah i think zac just wants to beat him now. what did rinaldo say during his interview at intermission last night? something along the lines of “i play 110% and never quit” he was talking about scoring his 1st goal in 55 games but i think that applies to fighting too, he wont quit til he gets the best of prust. dont blame him, nothing wrong with 2 guys having a fight rivalry either, league needs more of that in my opinion.
