Corey Crawford returned to the net for the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday, but a win eluded him.

The Blackhawks, the top team in the National Hockey League, dropped a 3-2 overtime decision to the New York Islanders, who still sit at the bottom of the Metropolitan Division. Crawford, who hasn’t played since Dec. 8 due to a lower-body injury, made 31 saves but allowed the overtime winner from Kyle Okposo.

“The positive was Corey’s play. He got us a point and made some real key stops. In the third period, it was Crawford who really saved us,” said Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville, as per the Chicago Tribune.

Crawford’s return comes less than a week before Hockey Canada will announce its roster for the men’s Olympic ice hockey competition. Crawford, with a 17-6-4 record this season, helped back stop the Blackhawks to a Stanley Cup last spring.
