Corey Crawford returned to the net for the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday, but a win eluded him.

The Blackhawks, the top team in the National Hockey League, dropped a 3-2 overtime decision to the New York Islanders, who still sit at the bottom of the Metropolitan Division. Crawford, who hasn’t played since Dec. 8 due to a lower-body injury, made 31 saves but allowed the overtime winner from Kyle Okposo.

“The positive was Corey’s play. He got us a point and made some real key stops. In the third period, it was Crawford who really saved us,” said Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville, as per the Chicago Tribune.

Crawford’s return comes less than a week before Hockey Canada will announce its roster for the men’s Olympic ice hockey competition. Crawford, with a 17-6-4 record this season, helped back stop the Blackhawks to a Stanley Cup last spring.

the hawks need to trade crawford and keep raanta as the number 1 goalie. raanta is 5 years younger and moves better on the ice plus has better hands than crawford. they had antti niemi and let him walk without knowing what crawfors would do, even though they won the cup last year with crawford he could’ve easily cost them the cup as well.

Crow just signed a new deal. He isn’t going anywhere.

No mention of the USA chants after Okposo scored?

no mention of the USA chants. Typical biased reporting against the Islanders

Oshie got the chant too, and wasn’t mentioned. Why does this site headline the losing team so much? Blues beat Hawks and Kings, and they interview Kane and Doughty…
