The Boston Bruins have assigned forward Nick Johnson and defenseman David Warsofsky to AHL Providence.

Why would they do that? Well, the Johnson move could mean the return of winger Dan Paille (concussion symptoms) for Friday’s home game versus Ottawa.

As for the assignment of Warsofsky, who made his NHL debut on Dec. 19, that could mean Dougie Hamilton (lower body) is nearly good to go.

Warsofsky looked good in the games he played up here. The Bruins have quite a bit of depth in defense right now. I’m looking forward to seeing Warsofsky and Kevan Miller in the NHL again.

So are people ready to stop looking only at the first round of recent drafts and accept the fact that Peter Chiarelli is a mastermind GM? I’m sick of people who say he can’t draft… He sure as hell knows how to stockpile young talent, that’s for sure. Aside from the bs that led to a lot if these open spots, I’ve never been more proud or excited to be a bruins fan. They’ve got like 5 dmen under 26 years old that would have roster spots on the majority of NHL teams. Spooner looks ready to be a top 2 C in the NHL along with a few other exciting prospects in providence (koko, lindblad, camara, morrow, subban, Svedberg) I honestly think the bruins are set up for a Detroit type run of excellence. So get comfy bruins haters, we’re not going anywhere anytime soon!
