Ducks win ninth straight with comeback against Capitals

The Anaheim Ducks are on some kind of a roll right now.

Their latest triumph came Monday, as they came back from an early two-goal deficit to defeat the Washington Capitals by a final score of 3-2.

That makes it nine straight victories for the Ducks, who are not only atop the Pacific Division with 59 points, but also the National Hockey League.

Hampus Lindholm scored the winning goal late in the third period, giving Ducks’ head coach Bruce Boudreau a victory in his return to Washington, where he helped turn around the Capitals franchise.

This one was not without its controversy, either. The Capitals’ fans believed their team had the tying goal, but Alex Ovechkin‘s shot late in the third period rang off the crossbar and stayed out, as per Helene Elliott of the L.A. Times.
